What I intend to do over the next week

-Higher-detail, better-looking passes at the lizard and crab space ships. Depending on what we need I can make them "character sheets" or just standalone illustrations. Thoughts?
-Some environmental concepts. Precisely which environments is to be determined.

^_^

Sorry about the confusion this weekend. Since I haven't really recieved any questions regarding things lately, I'm assuming everyone's fine with how things are going as well as what needs to be done, no?

I've decided that the concept sketches I've been working on (the concept art posted on the blog) will be part of the final presentation on May 5th. I'll be working on getting them done and they should be done, or at least ready for presentation by the end of next week or week and a half depending on the workload of my other classes.

Important!

Yesterday we had a meeting at school so people could sign up for UCI Mod teams.

Even if you signed up with a mod team, you are still a part of this Game Art group and you're still expected to do your share of the work here regardless of how much work you have to do for your mod team.

"I was doing ______ for my mod team, so I wasn't able to do _______ for this team." will not be a valid excuse.

HOWEVER--

You should still complete the tasks assigned to you by your mod team.

The only thing is that if you tell them "I wasn't able to complete ______ because I had a project to work on at school." They will probably be more understanding, but that means you have to work 2x to 5x harder between the next time you meet with them.

When you signed up with a UCI mod team, you are helping them get a project finished. They aren't working on their project just for fun--they are working on it for a grade as well.
They are also on the Quarter system, which lasts about ten weeks (correct me if I'm wrong). So you pretty much have 10 weeks to help them complete their game. Unlike our game art team, their game isn't hypothetical, they have to make a working game which will require a lot of effort to complete.
So if you don't meet a deadline, it could inflict damage on their grade.

If they don't feel like the artists on their team are giving them what they want, the LCAD-UCI combo within their team may dissolve so they can work on it themselves and you'll have to seek a position with another mod team via Sandy.

Currently we don't have anything due for our game art group as a whole, but don't forget about it.

Feel free to continue working on designs.

Use this "break time" time to your advantage.
